FCA Camp - A Parent's Perspective

Our son, Jack, attended FCA lacrosse camp for 4 summers spanning from middle school to high school.  This opportunity to attend camp helped him pursue two passions: gaining valuable lacrosse skills, and getting to grow in his love for God.

As a young man, our son declared 3 personal ambitions: to grow in his love for God, to be a messenger of the Gospel, and to be the best lacrosse player he could be.  FCA lacrosse camp is designed to help kids like Jack to pursue these ambitions.

Jack grew in his love for God through FCA camp through the compelling teaching, Christ-centered worship, and in-depth Bible studies. He always returned from camp with a bible which had an athlete-specific focus so that he could continue to pursue getting to know God more through His Word. Growing in his love for God gave Jack a passion to share this love with others.  Jack grew in his desire to gain wisdom from those older than himself, and he was able to  grow from accountability and encouragement of Huddle leaders who followed up with him throughout the year, not just during the camp week.

He has a heart to be an ambassador for Christ and to share Christ's love with others.  Under the instruction of great coaches and current college lacrosse players Jack grew in his knowledge and skill in lacrosse; FCA camp helped him attain this personal ambition and he enjoyed playing lacrosse through all 4 years at UHS.

Jack currently attends Liberty University, a Christian college in Lynchburg, Virginia.  Although he decided to not pursue lacrosse in college, he is an avid fan of the game and supports the Liberty men's lacrosse team.  The greatest gift FCA lacrosse camp gave to Jack continues to influence him today as he continues to grow in his love for God, and to be a messenger of the good news of Jesus Christ to others.
